Mixed issue with the following issue points: Ornaments to the 'Edmund Evans', blue endpapers, no 'End of Contents' to pp.14, full page illustrations to pp. 21, 35 and the kidnapping man to pp.63 which were removed in later issues.  In the publisher's original pictorial boards with cloth to the spine. Illustrated with a vignette to the half title, colour vignettes and full page colour illustrations by Kate Greenaway. Engraved and printed by Edmund Evans. This work was written and illustrated by Kate Greenaway, the English artist and writer known for her children's book illustrations. This work established her reputation, becoming a best seller. The work also gained popularity due to the collaboration between Edmund Evans, a popular engraver who specialised in colour printing, with this collaboration continuing in other works. In the publisher's original pictorial boards with cloth to the spine. Externally generally smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities, tape re-enforcements to the corners to the rear board, fading and marks to the boards. Front hinge held on by cords after the front blank and rear hinge tender after the rear blank. Internally binding tender in places with very minimal age toning, spotting and light handling marks.
