[ca. 1876-1882]. 18 Trade cards designed by Charlotte Perkins Gilman as a young student. Trade card: 2 7/8" x 4 1/4", printed in color against a gold background on buff stock. Some cards print advertisements on the verso. Some show light surface wear. Generally very good. 13 of the cards advertise Kendall Mfg. (French Laundry and Soapine); and 3 advertise Curtis Davis & Co.'s Welcome Soap. 2 cards depicting young women as floweres were designed to be used by printers and businesses as they chose.
