Brown suede boards stamped in gilt on the spines and upper panels and with a gilt portrait in a red cartouche on the upper panel. The spines are soiled and darkened and the gilt is rubbed and faded. Each volume is illustrated with line drawings throughout the text and 8 full page colour plates by W. R. S. Stott. Both volumes are clean and unmarked with tight bindings and without dust jackets. The bottom corner of the upper board of Volume II is bumped. near Very Good .
