Writings of the early 19th century poet, dramatist and physician who was obsessed with death and committed suicide at age 45. Edited by Sir Edmund Gosse. One work, "Death's Jest Book", IS decorated with illustrations from Hans Holbien's "Dance of Death". Edges untrimmed with some pages unopened. Offsetting to endpapers and verso of half-title of vol. 1 from frontis. Else a fine copy. .
