Illustrated with sixteen tipped-in colour plates, and forty-four black and white images. Collated complete. A collection of charming images of old inns from across Great Britain, such as: The George Inn in Salisbury, The King's Head in Chigwell, The Angel Inn in Woolhampton, The Star Inn in Alfriston, and The Mermain Inn in Rye. Written and illustrated by Cecil Aldin, a British artist and illustrator known for his paintings and sketches of animals and sports. In the original quarter vellum with cream paper covered boards. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and minor bumping to the extremities. The odd mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot.
