Len Deighton is a British author known for his novels on espionage and military history. He has written a number of works on The Cold War and World War Two, including this one and The Ipcress File, which has since been adapted into a popular film. This particular novel is the second in the series featuring the unnamed secret agent working for the British intelligence agency. This work follows The Ipcress File with two further novels, Funeral in Berlin and Billion Dollar Brain following Horse Under Water in the series.
