This is one of only 5 copies so bound of the entire edition of 1500 copies. Illustrated mostly in b+w, but with color plates. This is Onchi's seminal work on book design (the title translates as "book arts"); it includes his opinions on book aesthetics and a catalogue of his own extensive output of book designs. There is a bit of scant light foxing to some text leaves, but the illustrations are clean. Housed in (the original?) handmade paper-covered clamshell box. This is an essential work by arguably the most important book designer of modern Japan. .
