The first edition, first impression of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Ink inscriptions to the front free end paper, the first dated 1953. Richmal Crompton Lamburn (1890-1969) was a popular English writer, best known for her Just William series and humorous short stories. This work is the twenty-eighth Just William short story collection, containing eight adventurous and amusing short stories. Illustrated throughout by Thomas Henry. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is very smart, though gilt is faded to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the occasional spot to the first and last couple of pages. Dust wrapper remains bright, but is a little chipped to the head and tail of the spine, with light soiling to the rear of the wrap and creasing to the upper extremities. Very Good Indeed .
