Keene was a prominent English urban historian, who brought together history, archaeology and geography to investigate how people in the past experienced life in cities such as London. The project that generated most excitement was his work in the 1980s and 90s on the townscape and society of medieval London. In the publisher's original cloth bindings. Externally, excellent, with bumping to spine heads and tails. Hinges of F, and front hinge of G strained, but firmly held. Stamp to front free endpaper of two volumes, and inscriptions to front free endpaper of each volume. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally clean and bright, but with the odd spot to the first and last few leaves. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
