New York, London: Hodder and Stoughton, [n.d. circa 1913]. First edition thus. Eight color plates mounted on tan paper, with descriptive tissue guards. Title-page is printed in green on tan paper, with line illustrations in brown. Octavo. 20 x 15 cm. 169 pp. Publisher's binding of mauve cloth with title and decoration stamped in gilt to upper board and spine. The gilt has dulled and the cloth darkened slightly on spine; otherwise the binding shows only minor shelfwear. Text and illustrations are clean. The publication date above was suggested by the British Library. This copy has a contemporary gift inscription dated 1914. A very good copy of a very scarce title. (Hughey 15d). .
