Depew's memoirs of his experiences as a gunner and Chief Petty Officer during World War I. C.P.O. Depew served in the U.S. Navy before the war, and the French Foreign Legion during it. He was captured, imprisoned and brutalized by the Germans during the war. With photos, several maps (including a fold-out map of Europe) and a frontis photographic portrait of Depew. Includes a penciled gift inscription by Travis Hoke, who spent a month helping Depew ready the text of his book for publication. --- In blue cloth-covered boards with gilt-stamped cover & spine titling and an image of an anchor to spine, also in gilt.
