The eighth edition of this work of children's fiction by the Countess of Ségur. Published in French, with illustrations by the French wood engraver Horace Castelli. The tale follows cousins Jean and Jeannot as they navigate from Brittany to Paris for work. In a contemporary cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Lightly rubbed to the boards, with some light bumping to the extremities. The spine is discoloured, and a little bumped to the head and tail, with a couple of closed tears in the cloth to the head.
