Complete with half title. Ornithological study following Oxford and alpine birds through the seasons. Written by W Warde Fowler, English historian and ornithologist of the nineteenth and early twentieth century, mostly known for his work 'The Roman Festivals of the Period of the Republic.' In full calf binding with five raised bands, school gilt blind stamp to front board, marbled edges and endpapers. Externally sound with bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities, rubbed to back strip and joints, loss to spine title label. Boards lightly marked. Internally, firmly bound.
