Good overall; Volume II is chipped about 1/2 inch at crown, slightly affecting title, and the boards and backstrip are detached from the bookblock; Volume I has slight chipping in the same area. Spines sunned. Gilt cover vignettes (elk, lynx, bear and wolf) are bright. Seven color lithographs in Volume I and six in Volume II are all fine, and there are many b/w wood engravings in the text.
