The first edition of this uncommon work.ESTC citation number T136807 Complete as two parts bound in one, as issued.Queen Anne coat of arms in gilt to the boards, as issued. An interesting early eighteenth century treatise on British law and high treason, written after a century of great political turmoil in the country, after the English Civil War, and various attempts at overthrowing the monarch, to a varying success. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front free endpaper, notes by Sir Edward Northey regarding the Window Tax. Northey was a senior barrister and politician, sitting in the House of Commons from 1710 to 1722. He was the Attorney General for England and Wales. In a full crushed morocco binding with gilt coat of arms to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with some rubbing to the spine and extremities. Light marks to the boards. Prior owner's ink notes to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and generally clean with some scattered spots. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
