This edition is based on an earlier Limited Editions Club edition printed by the Officina Bodoni at Verona. Rendered into English verse from the Latin by John Dryden, who also has provided end notes which attempt to explain the meaning of various passages. Also with black & white engraved illustrations by Bruno Bramanti and an introduction by George F. Whicher. Sandglass leaflet not present. --- In green cloth-covered boards with floral-patterned illustrations in black and gold. Titling in gilt on black spine block; all textblock edges stained black. Volume housed in black paper-covered slipcase. --- With barely noticeable discoloration to spine, otherwise volume is in excellent shape with clean, unmarked and tightly-bound interior. Slipcase with moderate rubbing & a few scuffs; remains structurally sound.; Small Quarto - 9 to 11 in. tall; xvi, 155 pages. Very Good+ with no dust jacket .
