An entertaining, humorous and satirical look at the life of 18th century Oxford students. Written by Arthur Hamilton Gibbs, an English-American novelist. He was the brother of Cosmo Hamilton and Sir Philip Gibbs. Illustrated by Thomas Rowlandson, an English artist and caricaturist of the Georgian Era, noted for his political satire and social observation. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine and light fraying to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, generally firmly bound. Two loose pages inserted in place. Pages are bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Card pasted to front endpaper. Contemporary ink inscription to front endpaper. Good .
