Alongside fourteen routes that allow readers to see the most of these counties, this very scarce travel guide also offers a summary of each region's history, general character, and interesting geological features. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso of the front endpaper, 'the Bishop of St. Albans&apos. With publisher's adverts to the front and rear paste downs an endpapers. With four pages of publisher's adverts between the title page and the preface. With a sixty page catalogue of advertisements for railways, steamboat companies, and hotels to the rear. In the publisher's original red cloth binding. Externally, smart. Very lightly rubbed to the boards, with a little more rubbing at the joints and the spine.
