Boston Revolutionary War patriot and Arnold Arboretum contributor Benjamin Bussey's copy with his oval printed bookplate on the front pastedown, and his circular inkstamp to title page. xliv pp. + folding map + 304 pp. + xxxvi pp. + [2] pp. + [4] folding pp. + 20 pp. 8vo. mottled calf with gilt spine ornaments, rules and gilt leather spine label. Joints cracked, label and spine chipped. First blank page and following half-title detached, laid in. Occasional light foxing. Map has closed tear at joint with no loss, and moderate foxing. Bussey, in addition to having served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War, was a merchant, farmer and horticulturist; his Forest Hills estate was eventually made part of Harvard's Arnold Arboretum. .
