The first edition of this work in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Illustrated with 80 engraved plates. Collated complete. A charming work from Victorian-era illustrator Richard Doyle, best known for his contributions to Punch magazine, and as the uncle of Arthur Conan Doyle. This was a popular Victorian work, humorously recording Brown, Jones and Robinson's travels across Europe, including Switzerland and Italy. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally sound, though worn and faded. Losses to the front free end paper and half title page, not affecting the text. Internally, firmly bound.
