With a few scattered black & white engraved illustrations. --- In half navy blue leather and red/blue/ ivory marbled paper-covered boards, with matching marbled endpapers and all textblock edges. Text framed in red on all pages. 6-compartment spine with gilt titling & decorations. Undated, but possibly published c.1850s-1890s. --- With light chafing to spine ends and raised spine bands, a little foxing to leaves, and with prior owner's penciled signature to front endpaper, otherwise sound, tightly-bound, well-preserved copy of this rather scarce title.; 12mo - 7 to 7-1/2 in. tall; xxiv, 469 pages.
