This volume is a translation from French of the story of the Hundred Days which is also known as the War of the Seventh Coalition which marked the period between Napoleon's return from exile and the second restoration of King Louis XVIII. Erckmann-Chatrian was the name French authors Emile Erckmann and Alexandre Chatrian used with nearly all of their works being jointly written. This volume is translated from their French.With four plates. Collated, complete. In full calf binding. Externally, lovely with some light marks to the boards and a small part of the red to the spine has come away. With a previous owner bookplate to the front pastedown for Thomas Benfield Harbottle and a prize bookplate to the front free endpaper for the same person.
