A complete three volume set of the first edition of Sybil; or, The Two Nations. Very rare to see in the original publishers paper boards. Sybil; or, The Two Nations, is a novel by Benjamin Disraeli that traces the plight of the working classes of England, the novel was meant to create an uproar over the squalor that was plaguing England's working class cities at the time of its publication. The novel is split across the three volumes. Benjamin Disraeli was a politician and served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom .With half titles to volumes one and two as called for, and the vanishingly scarce publisher's catalogue to the end of volume one and advertisement leaf to volume three. Previous owner inscription to the title page of all three vols, dated 1845.
