Through his insightful and everyday themes, his poems changed the direction of 18th Century nature poetry. The first volume includes poems such as Table Talk, Progress of Errour, Charity and Ode to Peace. Volume two contains The Task in six books, The Faithful Bird and Friendship.  In full calf binding. Externally, smart with some marks to the boards and rubbing to the extremities and spines, mainly to the head and tails of the spines. A previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper of volume one. Internally, generally firmly bound with the rear free endpaper loose and generally bright and clean pages. Good . Ill.: None.
