The unpublished memoirs of Mgr. de Salamon, internuncio at Paris during the French Revolution of 1790-1801. This work is divided into three parts, the first dealing with the internuncio's imprisonment with a number of Catholic priests, nearly all of whom perished in the September massacres. The half title page is present. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some shelf wear to the edges. Light marks to the boards. Small crack to the upper spine, however it is still very firm. Some offsetting to the free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age-toned to the edges, but otherwise very bright and clean. The odd spot throughout. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed .
