Brock was a British illustrator and landscape painter best known for illustrating 'Great Expectations', by Charles Dickens. W. T. Horton was a mystic, illustrator and author, known for his spiritual art. An interesting novel by H. Rider Haggard, straying away from his usual adventure genre with a more spiritual novel that discusses animal rights, with the central figure being a hare who is recounting the hardships he and his family have encountered. Sir Henry Rider Haggard was a prolific English writer, specialising in adventure fiction and romance. Most of his works are set in exotic locations such as Africa. The half title page is present. In the publisher's full cloth binding. Externally, smart with some shelf wear to the extremities. Fading to the spine and to the edges of the front board. A few small marks to the boards. Age-toning to the edges of the paste-downs Offsetting to the free endpapers. Internally, binding slightly strained but still firmly bound. Pages lightly age-toned to the edges but otherwise very bright and clean. The odd small mark throughout. Very Good . Ill.: W. T. Horton; H. M. Brock. Very Good .
