First edition, first impression of The Long Flight by Terence Horsley in the original publisher's binding and unclipped dust wrapper. This collection of short stories follow themes of wildlife and migration. For instance, geese flying from the Arctic, salmon through the estuaries, and the Atlantic airman. Terence Horsley was a glider pilot during the Second World War, which has inspired his work. With nineteen monochrome plates of illustrations by Charles Tunnicliffe, an internationally renowned painter of birds and wildlife. He is most well known for illustrating Tarka the Otter by Henry Williamson (1927). Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. The dust wrapper has some minor wear to the extremities and some slight spotting. The binding has some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. There is some light spotting to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some spotting throughout, particularly to the first and last few pages. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: C. F. Tunnicliffe.
