Translated from the Italian by Grace Lovat Fraser and featuring an introduction by E. Gordon Craig. With the publisher's advertisements to the rear of the novel. With a bookplate to Roderick Eustace Enthoven, the British architect and illustrator, to the front paste-down. In quarter cloth binding. Externally, smart with shelf wear to the extremities and spine. Marks and fading to the boards. The title plate on the spine is chipped. Bookplate for 'Roderick Eustace Enthoven' to the front paste-down. Contemporary ink inscription dated 1922 to the front free endpaper. Offsetting to the paste-downs and free endpapers.
