The author, William Davis, starts this work by describing geometrical definitions and problems, laying out the maths needed for land surveying. He then explains in great but accessible detail about situations in which land surveying is used, including measuring water, land, hay, and many other agricultural uses. In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Extremities are worn with loss of leather. A little discolouration and some rubbing to the boards and to the joints. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound.
