Sheds light upon crucial events of the early Revolution, with a daily coverage of proceedings in the Convention Nationale, plus the international news impacting upon France (the attempts by England, Prussia and Austria to suppress the Revolution) and hostilities on the border. Includes a detailed account of the execution of Louis XVI. Suard (1731-1817) was a moderate Royalist, in favor of the Revolution and a parliamentary monarchy. For his views he was proscribed and had to leave France in 1797. In 1803 he returned, became permanent secretary of the Academie Francaise, and started a new journal. Then, having offended Napoleon, he gave up journalism in 1804. Bound together in light blue boards backed in a page of contemporary printed text. A few waterstains to cover, else fine. .
