Alan Patrick Herbert was an English humourist, novelist, playwright and law reformist and worked for the magazine Punch. Within this volume Herbert uses his gifts of sense and nonsense within the verses that first appeared in Punch. The verses are illustrated by George Morrow and illuminate the humour and wit of Herbert's words. In the unclipped dustwrapper. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light bumping to the spine. There is a previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
