A very unique handwritten poetry collection, including thirty-seven poems dated from 1913-1914.Poems are written in a very neat hand, with a few ink and pencil corrections.By Charles Patrick Graves, a journalist, travel writer, and novelist, the brother of the poet Robert Graves.When these poems were penned Charles was fourteen and fifteen, some of them written during World War One, after his brother Robert had gone to war and was gaining renowned as a war poet.Including 'Faery Wood', 'Presentiment', 'Faith and Fear', 'The Poet Believes', 'Augurs of Happiness', and more.Charles later published a collected poetry collection in 1972.Label 'Virtus Depressa Resurget' to the tail of the title page. In the original quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, smart, with a few light marks to the boards and spine. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spine labels are lightly worn. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few spots. Very Good Indeed .
