Virtue [1841]. 124 + 108 pp. + plates throughout. Complete. 120 engravings. Boards and spine shelfworn, front joint cracked. top of spine has 1 inch closed tear. Boards stamped in gilt and blind. The spine labels are missing but the tooled impressions are still legible, the title along with harps and shamrocks. Marbled endpapers and edges. Owner's inkstamp excessively and obsessively applied throughout the volume: on title-page, sporadically in text, and once in the margin of each plate, crowding the image and intruding slightly in just one corner of the image, and on reverse of each plate. Good overall, with lovely plates. Its condition would be more favaorably rated if not for the unfortunate ink-stamping; and it is priced accordingly:. .
