This is a very well presented leather and cloth bound copy of Le Sopha, Conte moral or The Sofa: a Moral Tale written by Claude Prosper Jolyot de Crebillon and in the original French. Many of the characters within the novel are satirical and originally published anonymously, Crebillon was exiled once he was discovered to be the author. Including an illustrated frontispiece. Collated, complete. Half calf binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, well presented. There is some rubbing to the joints and some marks to the boards. Front hinge is starting. Internally, firmly bound.
