1799. TYTLER, James. A TREATISE ON THE PLAGUE AND YELLOW FEVER. Salem: Joshua Cushing for B. B. MacAnulty, 1799. First edition. [4], 568, [1] pp. 8vo. old mottled calf with red gilt morocco spine label. Boards worn and detached, with front board scraped. Spine has two spots of loss, one at the heel and another about an inch above, and the label is loose/chipped. Front free endpaper and fly leaf are detached and laid-in. Signature excised on contents page and p. 1, with slight loss to text on p. 2. Bookblock tight but with occasional nicks to page edges. Folding plate somewhat foxed. Offered as is. Part I deals with the plague, the second part with yellow fever, and with an appendix comprised of extracts from Thucydides through Aiken and Jebb. (Austin 1940; Miner 377.). .
