A very scarce printing of the Irish Local Government Board's 1919 Housing Act, an act to 'amend the enactments relating to the Housing of the Working Classes and the acquisition of Small Dwellings in Ireland&apos.The act specified numbers and statures of housing to be provided by the local authority, quantities of land to be acquired, the average number of houses per acre, and the time frame in which this scheme is to take affect.From the library of the Law family.Hugh Law, Lord Chancellor of Ireland from 1881 to 1883, was largely responsible for the drafting of the Landlord and Tenant (Ireland) Act 1870. During the passage of the Land Law (Ireland) Act 1881 was noted for his conciliatory approach and willingness to accept Opposition amendments. His second son, also named Hugh Law, was an Irish nationalist politician who left government the year prior to the passing of this Act. In a full cloth binding.
