Signed by Johnston to the title page, with dedication to the front free endpaper "With the author's compliments and regards,' undated. A selection of forty-two sonnets from the author's epic poem The Book of the Beloved, containing moral metaphors intended for daily meditation in the style of Muslim sufis, who share words of love and devotion.Complete with its unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's binding over paper covered boards. Externally generally very smart with minor shelf wear only and light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, light spotting to the upper extremity of the front board. The dust wrapper is sound with minor loss to the head and tail of the spine and front wrap, unclipped with a touch of age toning. Dust wrapper cut with the front board of the volume displaying the title as issued. Signed by the author to the title page, with undated dedication to the front free endpaper.
