A limited edition of Voyages, a sequence of six erotic poems by influential American poet Hart Crane. This work was written across six years until 1926, and was inspired by Crane's romantic relationship with Emil Opffer, a Danish merchant mariner.This edition is decorated with some stunning wood engravings by Leonard Baskin, one per poem, and is limited to nine hundred and seventy five copies signed by the artist. This is copy number four hundred and eighty two. Collated, complete. The artwork is printed on Amalfi Italian hand-made paper and on Moriki and Mending Tissue, both hand-made in Japan. In the original publisher's portfolio. In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally lovely. Signed by the artist to the limitation page. The portfolio is rather worn, the boards detached, with some loss to the head of the spine, and a touch of sunning to the spine and boards; Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
