Blue paper binding in good condition. Interior with some browning but overall in good condition.Zeldzame dissertatie in het latijn van Herman Cannegieter (1723-1804). In leiden studeerde Herman onder de beroemde hoogleraren Petrus Burman, Franciscus van Oudendorp, Johannes Jacobus Vitriarius, Joannes Gerardus Rucker en Gerlacus Scheltinga. Om en nabij zijn twintigste schreef hij deze verhandeling over de wet van Numa Pompilius. In het volgende jaar werd hij rechtsgeleerde door zijn verhandeling over sommige duistere punten in de regtsgeleerdheid te verdedigen. Na zijn werk als advocaat bij het hof van Gelderland werd hij in 1750 tot hoogleraar in het burgerlijk recht te Franeker.
