A scarce work, here in the second edition of 1664.A tri-lingual volume, this work features text in Latin, Dutch and French.This work is a commentary on various aspects of the history of the Habsburg Netherlands, often legal. The Edict of 1577 - sometimes termed the Perpetual or Eternal Edict - which provided for the removal of Spanish forces from the Netherlands is referred to, alongside Archduke Albert VII of Austria and Isabella Clara Eugenia, the sovereigns of the Spanish Netherlands.To the front pastedown is an armorial bookplate with the word 'Quartum Spero&apos. In the original full calf binding. Rubbed and worn to extremities and boards. Bumping to spine head and tail, resulting in some loss of leather. Front and rear joints starting but holding firm.
