Distribution verticale des Céphalopodes, dans l'ensemble des contrées paléozoiques. Chap. XIX. Résumé général de nos études sur les Céphalopodes.

Prague, Paris, J. Barrande [the author], 1877. 8vo (24.0 x 15.5 cm). 253 pp; four double-sized, lithographed plates with expkanatory text. Original printed wrappers. = Essentially, this is Barrande's complete, finely illustrated contribution to the ontogeny of the ammonites, showing the larval shells in exceptional detail. Joachim Barrande was in fact one of the first palaeontologists to fully appreciate the value of the early shell in cephalopod systematics. The other two chapters deal with the vertial distribution, i.e., the stratigraphy of the ammonite taxa, and a summary of the results of his researches. Uncut. A very good, clean copy - apart from some light foxing, and slight soiling to the edges in mint condition.
