A Paris, A l'Imprimerie de Société Typographique des Trois Amis..., An VI 1798. 8vo, 207 x 124 mms., pp. [vii], vi - vii [viii "Avertissement"], 238, including half-title, one folding table, three engraved plates, 19th century binder's cloth, inscribed on the front paste-down end-paper, "George Oakley Fisher/ purchase in Holywell St. the Strand/ Friday April 5th, 1878." Rivard (1697 - 1778) published the work the first edition of this work in 1741, with a second edition in 1743, and at least six other editions before 1850, including editions by Jerome de Lalande (1732 - 1807) and Louis Puissant (1769 -1843), whose edition was published as the sixth in 1807. This sixth edition of 1798 was the first to be edited by Lalande.
