It is signed by Smyth on the half-title page and inscribed by him on the ffep. In addition, he has written the poem "Elegy," composed in memory of his father Paul Caleton Smyth, on the blank before the colophon; the poem was later published in his collection Shadowed Leaves (1973). 12mo. leather textured cloth, gilt-stamped title to spine and upper board. A fine copy in a snug-fitting black paper-covered slipcase that is soiled and docked at one corner. .
