A scarce volume comprising the heraldic visitation of London in 1568, taken by Robert Cooke. Heraldic visitations were tours of inspection taken by Kings of Arms throughout the country. The purpose was to regulate the coats of arms of nobility, gentry, and boroughs, and to record pedigrees. This edition was augmented with descents and arms. Printed to the recto as called for. Bound in half morocco over marbled boards. In half morocco binding over marbles boards. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear and a minor scuffing of the leather to the extremities of the front and rear boards. Inscribed by a previous owner to the front free endpaper. Loosely inserted, a letter dated 1900. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor light foxing to the leaves, particularly to the first and last few. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
