Spine with red morocco label with gilt title and gilt stippled lines. Marbled endpapers. Original printed front wrapper bound in. A posthumously published paper by a former president of the Orléans archaeological society, Louis-Augustin-Léon Nouel de Buzonnière (1797-1876). Provenance: on the front pastedown a mineralogical bookplate of the French mineralogist and professor at the École des Mines, Claude Jean Guy Guillemin (1923-1994), who lived in Orléans and was a co-founder of the International Mineralogical Association. A few pencilled marginalia, most probably by Guillemin, otherwise excellent, spotless and neatly bound.
