Includes derivations of Saxon or Dutch words; corruptions from German, Latin, and French; final section on superstition provides interesting information on ghosts, witches, and omens. Large 4to. brown cloth spine, paper boards. Ex-library; bookplates to front pastedown and no other library marks. Title has been handwritten in ink to front board. Spine covering has been rubbed away; the boards are detached, worn. The text is clean but bookblock is a bit rippled. This volume is being offered as is. .
