A two volume set of Biographia Scoticana, containing a collection of biographies of various Scottish clergymen of note, focusing on Protestant reform and the place the Church had in Scotland. Some of the biographies are accompanied by engravings.Originally published in 1775 by John Howie, this edition has been revised by William McGavin, with a preface and notes added. This is a smart edition in half leather with a marbled boards. In a half calf binding, with marbling to the boards. Externally generally smart, lightly rubbed on the spine and boards. Internally, firmly bound, foxed to first and last few pages, otherwise a few scattered spots.  Very Good . Ill.: Various. Very Good .
