Lippincott & Co. 1855. First American edition, from the fifth London edition. Complete, in four volumes. 8vo. purple cloth, lettered in gilt. The cloth is sunned to light brown at the spine and perimeters and is missing the entire spine of volume 1, the binding of volume 1 is overopened at the middle of the text block. These are ex-library copies with the only markings being bookplates. These are clean interally. A candidate for rebinding. .
