Engraved title page by Caspar Luyken, depicting cluster of angels in the sky over Melk, which stood on a bluff over the Danube. 53 engraved oval portraits of Abbots, starting in 1089, with Latin text recounting their virtues and accomplishments. The last, and finest, portrait shows Bertold himself, giving the date of his consecration as June 29, 1701. Extremities rubbed, and later paper label on front, else fine. Not in OCLC. .
