Together with two additional sheets with a printed sketch of geology in Scotland, and Geikie's signature. = Portrait of James Geikie (1839-1915), one of the most famous Scottish geologists, sitting in a Scottish landscape. A work by the English artist, illustrator, and engraver William Brassey Hole (1846-1917). Published in "Quasi Cursores; Portraits of the High Officers of the University of Edinburgh". Disbound. Clean plate with a strong impression. Very good.
